Tay Made was personally hand-picked by Schoolboy Q for his energy, punchy flows and his stark individuality. Born and raised in South London, he seems to be an embodiment of effortless swag and exuberates great confidence, and not the type which is overwhelmingly cocky.
Tay Made’s performance was really good, like really good. Having never heard of the opening act nor any of his music, I didn’t quite know what to expect. He surprisingly surpassed and defied all expectations I had of him. He captivated the audience as he treated the stage like his playground, ricocheting and bouncing across every corner. Despite not knowing the songs, Tay Made made you feel as if you did (pun intended)

Schoolboy Q’s performance was stellar. From dropping a quick twerk to Man of The Year, mosh pitting to Collard Greens and Gangsta or suddenly being in your feelings as he sung, every bar he rapped had us eating out of his palm. The energy in the room was electric and the mosh pits were lethal. On top of a great set list, Groovy Q did not shy away from frequently asking us what song we want to hear.

It was a great event and that can’t only be attributed to the artists. House of Vans’ venue was brilliant, the skate ramps which curved around the walls, the restaurants and photo booth – House of Vans really wanted to create an experience with this event and they achieved just that!
